CASTAC is seeking applications for the Public Relations Manager role, which supports our organisation by managing social media and email communications. The primary responsibilities are:
- Running CASTAC’s social media accounts (LinkedIn, Bluesky, Twitter and Facebook), including sharing content related to the anthropology of science and technology, live-posting events such as CASPR, and sharing the Committee’s latest activities.
- Coordinating content promotion with Platypus’ Managing Editor, including drafting social media posts and emails to the listserv 1-2 times a week to promote new blog content.
- Assisting co-chairs and web producer with external communication requests as needed, and attending quarterly board meetings as a member of the CASTAC board.
The position requires a maximum of 2-3 hours of work a week. The initial term for this position will run from March 2026 to February 2028 (2 years). As CASTAC is an entirely volunteer-run organization, we are unable to offer compensation.
Interested candidates should send a CV and cover letter outlining their interests in relation to the blog’s mission, and any related previous experience to editor@castac.org by February 26, 2026. We value commitment and professionalism, so note that any relevant experience in community outreach and/or social media management is preferred but not required.
Candidates will be notified by February 27 and will be expected to start the following week.
Please share this message with anyone who may be interested, and don’t hesitate to be in touch with us (editor@castac.org) if you have any questions about the position.
